Hardware in use:
  • 2x Athlon 800, 256MB, Win2000
  • 1x Athlon 700, 256MB, Win2000/Win98 (additionally this machine had installed the Firewire card "Studio DV" from Pinnacle Systems).
  • 1x Pentium-III 500, 128MB, Windows NT4
  • 1x Sony DCR-TRV20E Camcorder
  • 1x PowerMac G4 450MHz
  • 1x Kurzweil K2500X Master Keyboard

Two of the four PCs were solely used for the project whereas the other ones were sometimes used for the regular institute work during the day. Sporadically some additional machines could be used for rendering so that on average there were 3-4 machines available. The distribution of the rendering jobs was accomplished with the network rendering functionality of 3D Studio MAX.
The purpose of the camcorder was mainly to digitally record the computer animation on video tape. Additionally it was used to shoot photos, which were helpful for modeling and texturing the objects. The Macintosh computer and keyboard was used to compose the music for the animation.
