The animation starts inside an office of
an architect who's working on his construction plans of the new library. He's working
tirelessly putting all his ideas onto paper. In the next scene the ground-breaking
ceremony takes place and the construction squad approaches. These are several different
robots whose nature resembles rather a human being than a machine. These robots are
starring in the following cartoon-like scenes that play during the different parts of the
construction phase and where the robots demonstrate their "ability". After the
work is done and all the robots have gathered in front of the new building, it is
presented in its entire splendour. Then, after the flight around the building you see a
spaceship floating through space. Inside, a dark figure gazes onto a big screen where
several buildings are shown to him. The dark one is not satisfied. Suddenly the right
thing seems to be found: it's the new library! Shortly after, a squadron of smaller ships
leaves the mother ship and approaches earth. They dive into the campus and seem to scout
the area. Back at the new library the big space ship floats menacingly above the building.
A hatch opens and a bright beam of light strikes the library and spreads all over it. The
building begins to glow. Its silhouette becomes blurred. Then it vanishes entirely and it
becomes obvious: the abduction is accomplished. Where there just has been a huge building
there's nothing more left than emptiness. But what's happening now? The construction plans
are reappearing and we're back in the office of the architect who's just awaking. It has
all been nothing but a dream. What a relief! And even the building is still there, as a
model standing on a table next to the architect... |
